Return to the Newsletter Archive Growing Demands for Green in the Desert Triacta has partnered with a company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to distribute Triacta’s leading smart meter technology for multi-tenant buildings in this growing market. Brayan Sabanz, Technical Equipment Trading Co., based in Dubai, will distribute Triacta products in the Middle East. Dubai is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is presently experiencing a massive construction boom. In a recent report issued by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the demand for energy increased 24 percent in 2007, more than double the increased demand in 2006 (11 percent). For the most part, new commercial and residential development is driving the increase in power consumption. “Our goal is to help customers achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building standards. Triacta’s unique IP-based smart metering solution easily integrates with other building automation and billing systems and is a natural choice to achieve sustainability goals, balancing development, growth and conservation,” says Mr. Praveen, Sales and Marketing Director of the Brayan Group. “Working with the Brayan Group, Triacta will establish a strong presence in the Middle East – a growing and important market for green building technologies,” says Rob Brennan, President and CEO of Triacta. “Through its innovative initiatives and world-leading standards, the region has set the bar high. Triacta technologies are well positioned to be part of this opportunity.” In 2007, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai issued a policy of green-building standards for the region. Dubai is endeavoring to be the first region in the Middle East to implement such standards. As of January 2008 all new projects must adhere to the new environment-friendly standards
